I love live performance.
Ben Salter supported Counting Crows at Perth Concert Hall
Front row tickets to Counting Crows at Perth Concert Hall was absolutely sublime. Without punters blocking my periphery, it felt like the show was performed just for me.
The last time I saw AC/DC was quite distant from the stage so I wasn’t planning to take any shots. Seeing fireworks, good symmetry, and a fan dead centre doing devil horns during Highway To Hell, I couldn’t resist.
Queen was a photographic bucket list opportunity for me. There is nothing quite like photographing a personal hero, and seeing him look right back at you.
Robert Plant at the PCEC was amazing. Music really matters to him, and he absolutely shows it. What a total legend!
Michael Buble is a wonderful entertainer. He completely owned the entire Perth Arena from the very start.
When Kiss reformed with their original members the concert that they brought to town sounded phenomenal. Although we had centre front row tickets to this show we didn’t get to our seats before the crowd surged forward and absorbed them. It was a great show though.
Iron Maiden was a huge show of all their well known numbers and some great new material. The show was ridiculously huge for such good value.
Delta Goodrem supported Ricky Martin
Ricky Martin has a great show that is so much fun. What a star!
Keith Urban was a surprise to me. I accompanied a friend doing a review on the show, and didn’t expect to be so blown away. He was awesome.
Neil Diamond at Sandalford Winery
Suzi Quatro was such a great nostalgic show.
Steel Panther brings the 1980s Glam Metal back every time. Here they rocked Perth’s Metropolis Night Club.
We got to meet Steel Panther before the show. What a great experience.
The Raven Age supported Iron Maiden
Passenger played at the Astor Theatre
Ian Moss is an excellent performer. He is really very animated, making him riveting to watch but quite a challenge to photograph. Challenge accepted.
The Murphy Brothers performed the whole Wings Album Band on the Run note perfectly
The Audreys + Fox Cat Rabbit played at Fly By Night club
DJ Flex (Winston) is one of the best DJs in Perth
Frankie Walnut was great entertainment. He warmed up the crowd for The Beards.
The Beards was a great band singing songs about beards. I shot a series of images from all vantage points at the Astor Theatre. I love the shots, and wish the band was still together.
I went to see Nickelback with my daughter. They were at the end of a world tour so their set was tight and note perfect. Unfortunately they tried to do Foo Fighter’s Everlong as encore and the drummer didn’t seem to have learnt it properly.
Fozzy supported Steel Panther at Metropolis and warmed the crowd up well.
The Proclaimers played at the Perth Concert Hall
Mark Wilkinson played at the Fly By Nightclub
Lissa performed at Fly By Nightclub and used my photo for her CD cover.
Eco Fairies put on a wonderful party in Leederville
Jimmy Barnes did a soul concert at The Burswood Crown
The Giants international puppet show from France. They used the streets of Perth as a stage and backdrop for an incredible three day performance. I went to all three days and I don’t think I’ll ever see Perth so packed again in my lifetime. As exclusive and brilliant as it was, I still hear the occasional grumble that nothing happens in Perth.
Majestique School Of Dance nurtured dancers for annual performances.
